After the long wait…. we finally got our NCII Computer Proficiency Certification from TESDA.. Wootahh! I took mine in August and Bstfrnd took hers in September… and we got our certificates only this November. *le sigh*
The examination has two parts: the actual testing and oral exam. On the first one, we were given a list of exercises and we had to finish it within a set time period. The exam covers Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, E-mail and Internet. Sounds easy enough? Yeah, I thought so. But it’s weird cuz there’s a very small percentage that pass that certification annually. Even computer teachers fail that exam. So it got us really worried. Maybe it’s on the advanced level?!?!?! There’s nothing left for us to do but pray. And we did… until it was time to enter the testing area.
There’s three students that got tested/interviewed before us, from **tooott**, a popular IT college… and all of them failed… so imagine my nervousness when it was my time to take the oral exam. Basically, I discussed to the assessor what I did with my exercises… she asked questions… while going through her checklist…. i try to smile every now and then to look friendly (hahaha!)… then she finally scribbles something on my papers… and this is the part where my heart goes thump thump…
assessor: you sign here.. and then call us to check if your certificate is ready
me: *gulps* (apparently i wasn’t listening) ummm… so am I okay? when will i get the result?
assessor: this is the result.. *continues checking* well you’ve *checks* answered all my questions.. you’ve *checks* finished all the exercises *checks* so you’re good. Actually, you’re very good! Congratulations. *handshakes*
aaaannd just imagine me thanking her over and over again.. and running towards bestfriend with a huge smile plastered on my face. XD that was the best birthday gift ever… (cuz august was my birth month)
The NCII Computer Proficiency is a requirement for all IT teachers.. and some students. Bestfriend forced me to take it.. cuz she said it would look good as display on my computer shop. haha! just kidding! I took it cuz we’re also offering computer tutorials on my shop (shameless plugging!)… so if ever anybody asks if we’re certified with TESDA.. well duh… as if you have to ask. hahaha…
now that’s one conceited post! you can’t blame me though… i’m in such a good mood today. ^_^
